Just a reminder that our dear little Clifford Duck is undertaking his second Tough Mudder challenge today. He has asked that we remind everyone that he is hoping to raise money for charity and asks that you donate either via the jar behind the bar or by using his friend’s B My Charity page.
As you know Clifford Duck completed the Dublin Tough Mudder challenge on 5th October. He sent his T-shirt and headband home so we have framed them for him.
Having given up smoking, he spent this last weekend enjoying a spa in preparation for his next challenge, another Tough Mudder, this time in Winchester next weekend.
He has decided he would like to see if his friends will support his efforts by donating some cash to Help for Heroes. You could do this in any way that you choose, though we do have a jar behind the bar if you would like to donate there.[codepeople-post-map]
The Clifford Arms Darts Team are looking for extra players. They will be having a “practice session” (or even a “practice” session) on Wednesday evening 8th October from 7:30pm. If you are interested in joining the team, please come and join in.
The Team would like to point out that they operate an equal opportunities selection process (if you enjoy a giggle and a drink you’re probably in … if you can hit the dartboard that’s a bonus).
Well it seems that Clifford Duck is enjoying his adventures. He has a new feather in his cap, becoming a Tough Mudder Legionnaire ( https://toughmudder.co.uk/) after completing three laps in Dublin on Sunday 5th October 2014.
Clifford Duck was happy living on his shelf by the TV in the bar. When the new 50″ TV was put in, he moved to a windowsill. We are not sure if the view from the window caused him to develop a wanderlust, or, more worryingly, if someone abducked him. He has been in contact with us via Facebook, but his adventures to date have done little to ease our concerns about him.
On his first day away we could tell from his facebook posts that he was taking good care of himself. He’d been on a trip to Wales, been shopping for food and had a bath before bed. He even got up early enough the next day to make sure he got his early morning swim.
Since then, it seems he might have got into bad company – namely a “Tough Mudder” (www.toughmudder.co.uk). He has obtained a dodgy passport and taken to drinking, driving fast cars and consorting with the ladies. He has even been arrested by armed police – though it would appear that he was let off with a caution.
